I think that this is an awesome quote from the book, as it shows us much in such a short little quote. It tells us that Oskar is kind at heart, and does not like to be rude to people. It also shows us that, since Oskar is so young people are not as fearing and very important people, such as this person, would let an unknown person into their house. Additionally, it shows that people are very trusting of other people despite all what has happened in the 9/11 attack.
