This topic of knowing things that you wish you didnt know about is a large part of showing the immaturity of Oskar because in one can notice that all of the things that he wishes he didnt know about are things that seem insignficant or childish to the average adult. This is vital in protraying the point of view of a young boy.

On page 192 Oskar said that he knows a lot about the birds and the bees and that he wish he didn't know some of it. He probably thinks this because he is only nine years young. Oskar is very intellegent for his age and is more adapted to the traumatic experiences and the worlds standing and values.
Oskar starts out wanting to know everything but soon learns that sometimes there are things that you shouldn't know about.
